摘要: Supernova remnant (SNR) G106.3+2.7 was recently found to be one of the few potential Galactic hadronic PeVatrons. Aiming to test how solid the SNR is associated with the molecular clouds (MCs) that are thought to be responsible for hadronic interaction, we performed a new CO observation with the IRAM 30m telescope toward its "belly" region, which is coincident with the centroid of the $\gamma$-ray emission. There is a filament structure in the local-standard-of-rest velocity interval $-8$ to $-5$ km/s that nicely follows the northern radio boundary of the SNR. We have seen asymmetric broad profiles of $^{12}$CO lines, with widths of a few km/s along the northern boundary and in the "belly" region of G106.3+2.7, but similar $^{12}$CO line profiles are also found outside the SNR boundary. Further, the low $^{12}$CO J=2-1/J=1-0 line ratios suggest the MCs are cool. Therefore, it is still uncertain whether the MCs are directly disturbed by the SNR shocks, but we do find some clues that the MCs are nearby and thus can still be illuminated by the escaped protons from the SNR. Notably, we find an expanding molecular structure with a velocity of $\sim$3.5 km/s and a velocity gradient of the MCs across the SNR from $\sim -3$ to $-7$ km/s, which could be explained as the effect of the wind blown by the SNR's progenitor star.

摘要: We present an updated study on assessing the axes stability of the third generation of the International Celestial Reference Frame (ICRF3) in terms of linear drift and scatter based on the extragalactic source position time series from analyses of archival very long baseline interferometry observations. Our results show that the axes of the ICRF3 are stable at a level of 10 to 20 microseconds of arc, and it does not degrade after the adoption of the ICRF3 when observations from new networks are included. We also show that the commonly used method of deriving the position time series (four-step solution) is robust.

摘要: Pulsars are special objects whose positions can be determined independently from timing, radio interferometric, and Gaia astrometry at sub-milliarcsecond (mas) precision; thus, they provide a unique way to monitor the link between dynamical and kinematic reference frames. We aimed to assess the orientation consistency between the dynamical reference frame represented by the planetary ephemeris and the kinematic reference frames constructed by Gaia and VLBI through pulsar positions. We identified 49 pulsars in Gaia Data Release 3 and 62 pulsars with very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) positions from the PSR$\pi$ and MSPSR$\pi$ projects and searched for the published timing solutions of these pulsars. We then compared pulsar positions measured by timing, VLBI, and Gaia to estimate the orientation offsets of the ephemeris frames with respect to the Gaia and VLBI reference frames by iterative fitting. We found orientation offsets of $\sim$10 mas in the DE200 frame with respect to the Gaia and VLBI frame. Our results depend strongly on the subset used in the comparison and could be biased by underestimated errors in the archival timing data, reflecting the limitation of using the literature timing solutions to determine the frame rotation.

摘要: In recent years, levitated particles of optical traps in vacuum have shown enormous potential in precision sensor development and searching for new physics. The accuracy of the calibration relating the detected signal to absolute displacement of the trapped particle is a critical factor for absolute measurement performance. In this paper, we suggest and experimentally demonstrate a novel calibration method for optical tweezers based on free-falling particles in vacuum, where the gravitational acceleration is introduced as an absolute reference. Our work provides a calibration protocol with great certainty and traceability, which is significant in improving the accuracy of precision sensing based on optically levitated particles.

摘要: Low-resolution LAMOST and Keck spectra of blue supergiant stars distributed over the disks of the Local Group spiral galaxies M 31 and M 33 are analyzed to determine stellar effective temperatures, gravities, metallicities, and reddening. Logarithmic metallicities at the center of the galaxies (in solar units) of $0.30\pm0.09$ and $0.11\pm0.04$ and metallicity gradients of $-0.37\pm0.13$ dex/$R_{25}$ and $-0.36\pm0.16$ dex/$R_{25}$ are measured for M 31 and M 33, respectively. For M 33 the 2-dimensional distribution of metallicity indicates a deviation from azimutal symmetry with an off-centre peak. The flux-weighted gravity-luminosity relationship of blue supergiant stars is used to determine a distance modulus of 24.51$\pm$0.13 mag for M 31 and 24.93$\pm$0.07 mag for M 33. For M 31 the flux-weighted gravity--luminosity relationship (FGLR) distance agrees well with other methods. For M 33 the FGLR-based distance is larger than the distances from Cepheids studies but it is in good agreement with work on eclipsing binaries, planetary nebulae , long-period variables, and the tip of the red giant branch.

摘要: We extend previous works by considering two additional radio frequencies (K band and X/Ka band) with the aim to study the frequency dependence of the source positions and its potential connection with the physical properties of the underlying AGN. We compared the absolute source positions measured at four different wavelengths, that is, the optical position from the Gaia Early Data Release 3 (EDR3) and the radio positions at the dual S/X, X/Ka combinations and at K band, as available from the third realization of the International Celestial Reference Frame (ICRF3), for 512 common sources. We first aligned the three ICRF3 individual catalogs onto the Gaia EDR3 frame and compare the optical-to-radio offsets before and after the alignment. Then we studied the correlation of optical-to-radio offsets with the observing (radio) frequency, source morphology, magnitude, redshift, and source type. The deviation among optical-to-radio offsets determined in the different radio bands is less than 0.5 mas, but there is statistical evidence that the optical-to-radio offset is smaller at K band compared to S/X band for sources showing extended structures. The optical-to-radio offset was found to statistically correlate with the structure index. Large optical-to-radio offsets appear to favor faint sources but are well explained by positional uncertainty, which is also larger for these sources. We did not detect any statistically significant correlation between the optical-to-radio offset and the redshift. The radio source structure might also be a major cause for the radio-to-optical offset. For the alignment of with the Gaia celestial reference frame, the S/X band frame remains the preferred choice at present.

摘要: Quantum memories at telecom wavelengths are crucial for the construction of large-scale quantum networks based on existing fiber networks. On-demand storage of telecom photonic qubits is a fundamental request for such networking applications but yet to be demonstrated. Here we demonstrate the storage and on-demand retrieval of telecom photonic qubits using a laser-written waveguide fabricated in an $^{167}$Er$^{3+}$:Y$_2$SiO$_5$ crystal. Both ends of the waveguide memory are directly connected with fiber arrays with a fiber-to-fiber efficiency of 51%. Storage fidelity of 98.3(1)% can be obtained for time-bin qubits encoded with single-photon-level coherent pulses, which is far beyond the maximal fidelity that can be achieved with a classical measure and prepare strategy. This device features high reliability, easy scalability and can be directly integrated into fiber networks, which could play an essential role in fiber-based quantum networks.

摘要: Ground-based arrays of imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes (IACTs) are the most sensitive γ-ray detectors for energies of approximately 100 GeV and above. One such IACT is the High Altitude Detection of Astronomical Radiation (HADAR) experiment, which uses a large aperture refractive water lens system to capture atmospheric Cherenkov photons (i.e., the imaging atmospheric Cherenkov technique). The telescope array has a low threshold energy and large field of view, and can continuously scan the area of the sky being observed, which is conducive to monitoring and promptly responding to transient phenomena. The process of γ-hadron separation is essential in very-high-energy (>30 GeV) γ-ray astronomy and is a key factor for the successful utilization of IACTs. In this study, Monte Carlo simulations were carried out to model the response of cosmic rays within the HADAR detectors. By analyzing the Hillas parameters and the distance between the event core and the telescope, the distinction between air showers initiated by γ-rays and those initiated by cosmic rays was determined. Additionally, a Quality Factor was introduced to assess the telescope's ability to suppress the background and to provide a more effective characterization of its performance.

摘要: The High Altitude Detection of Astronomical Radiation (HADAR) experiment is a refracting terrestrial telescope array based on the atmospheric Cherenkov imaging technique. It focuses the Cherenkov light emitted by extensive air showers through a large aperture water-lens system for observing very-high-energy-rays and cosmic rays. With the advantages of a large field-of-view (FOV) and low energy threshold, the HADAR experiment operates in a large-scale sky scanning mode to observe galactic sources. This study presents the prospects of using the HADAR experiment for the sky survey of TeV {\gamma}-ray sources from TeVCat and provids a one-year survey of statistical significance. Results from the simulation show that a total of 23 galactic point sources, including five supernova remnant sources and superbubbles, four pulsar wind nebula sources, and 14 unidentified sources, were detected in the HADAR FOV with a significance greater than 5 standard deviations ({\sigma}). The statistical significance for the Crab Nebula during one year of operation reached 346.0 {\sigma} and the one-year integral sensitivity of HADAR above 1TeV was ~1.3%-2.4% of the flux from the Crab Nebula.

摘要: In this work, we present a catalog of cataclysmic variables (CVs) identified from the Sixth Data Release (DR6) of the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST). To single out the CV spectra, we introduce a novel machine-learning algorithm called UMAP to screen out a total of 169,509 H$\alpha$-emission spectra, and obtain a classification accuracy of the algorithm of over 99.6$\%$ from the cross-validation set. We then apply the template matching program PyHammer v2.0 to the LAMOST spectra to obtain the optimal spectral type with metallicity, which helps us identify the chromospherically active stars and potential binary stars from the 169,509 spectra. After visually inspecting all the spectra, we identify 323 CV candidates from the LAMOST database, among them 52 objects are new. We further discuss the new CV candidates in subtypes based on their spectral features, including five DN subtype during outbursts, five NL subtype and four magnetic CVs (three AM Her type and one IP type). We also find two CVs that have been previously identified by photometry, and confirm their previous classification by the LAMOST spectra.

摘要: Rare information on photodisintegration reactions of nuclei with mass numbers $A \approx 160$ at astrophysical conditions impedes our understanding of the origin of $p$-nuclei. Experimental determination of the key ($p,\gamma$) cross sections has been playing an important role to verify nuclear reaction models and to provide rates of relevant ($\gamma,p$) reactions in $\gamma$-process. In this paper we report the first cross section measurements of $^{160}$Dy($p,\gamma$)$^{161}$Ho and $^{161}$Dy($p,n$)$^{161}$Ho in the beam energy range of 3.4 - 7.0 MeV, partially covering the Gamow window. Such determinations are possible by using two targets with various isotopic fractions. The cross section data can put a strong constraint on the nuclear level densities and gamma strength functions for $A \approx$ 160 in the Hauser-Feshbach statistical model. Furthermore, we find the best parameters for TALYS that reproduce the A $\thicksim$ 160 data available, $^{160}$Dy($p,\gamma$)$^{161}$Ho and $^{162}$Er($p,\gamma$)$^{163}$Tm, and recommend the constrained $^{161}$Ho($\gamma,p$)$^{160}$Dy reaction rates over a wide temperature range for $\gamma$-process network calculations. Although the determined $^{161}$Ho($\gamma$, p) stellar reaction rates at the temperature of 1 to 2 GK can differ by up to one order of magnitude from the NON-SMOKER predictions, it has a minor effect on the yields of $^{160}$Dy and accordingly the $p$-nuclei, $^{156,158}$Dy. A sensitivity study confirms that the cross section of $^{160}$Dy($p$, $\gamma$)$^{161}$Ho is measured precisely enough to predict yields of $p$-nuclei in the $\gamma$-process.
