摘要: Reconstruction of the trajectories of charged particles at High Energy Physics experiments is a complicated task, in particular those of long-lived particles. At the future Super Tau-Charm Facility (STCF), long-lived particles are present in several important benchmark physics processes. A Common Tracking Software was used to reconstruct the trajectories of long-lived particles and it is shown that the track finding performance of the commonly used Combinatorial Kalman Filter for long-lived particles is limited by the seeding algorithm. This can be improved by steering the Combinatorial Kalman Filter with initial tracks provided by Hough Transform. The track finding performance of combined Hough Transform and Combinatorial Kalman Filter evaluated using the process J/ψ → Λ(→ pπ − )Λ̄(→ p̄π + ) at STCF is presented.

摘要: The γ-ray emitting compact symmetric objects (CSOs) PKS 1718–649, NGC 3894, and TXS 0128+554 are lobe-dominated in the radio emission. In order to investigate their γ-ray radiation properties, we analyze the ∼14 yr Fermi/LAT observation data of the three CSOs. They all show the low luminosity (1041–1043 erg s−1) and no significant variability in the γ-ray band. Their γ-ray average spectra can be well fitted by a power-law function. These properties of γ-rays are clearly different from the γ-ray emitting CSOs CTD 135 and PKS 1413+135, for which the γ-rays are produced by a restarted aligned jet. In the Lγ − Γγ plane, the three CSOs are also located at the region occupied by radio galaxies (RGs) while CTD 135 and PKS 1413+135 display a similar feature to blazars. Together with a similar radio emission property to γ-ray emitting RGs Cen A and Fornax A, we speculate that the γ-rays of the three CSOs stem from their extended mini-lobes. The broadband spectral energy distributions of the three CSOs can be well explained by the two-zone leptonic model, where their γ-rays are produced by the inverse Compton process of the relativistic electrons in extended regions. By extrapolating the observed Fermi/LAT spectra to the very high energy band, we find that TXS 0128+554 among the three CSOs may be detected by the Cherenkov Telescope Array in the future.

摘要: Polarization detection of X-rays is a non-negligible topic to astrophysical observation. Many polarization detection methods have been well developed for X-rays in the energy range below 10~keV, while the detection at 10-30~keV is rarely discussed. This paper presents a simulation study of a Xe-based gas pixel detector, which can achieve the polarization detection of X-rays at 10-30~keV. To verify the emission angle distribution of photoelectrons, different electromagnetic models in Geant4 were investigated. After a necessary modification by considering the missing factor when sampling the emission angle, a good agreement can be achieved. Moreover, the detection capability of 20~keV polarized photons was discussed and the modulation factor could be 43\%.

摘要: Cigarette smoke is one of the six major pollution sources in the room air. It contains large number of particles with size less than 10 nm. There exist carbon dots (CDs) in cigarette smoke which have strong fluorescence and with good bio-compatibility and low toxicity. CDs in cigarette smoke can be applied in bio-imaging which has great potential applications in the integration of cancer diagnosis and treatment. In this paper, CDs were extracted from cigarette smoke. Then, sodium borohydride was added to CDs aqueous solution for reduction and the reduced CDs (R-CDs) were used for biological cell imaging. The results indicate that the CDs with the particle size $<$10 nm in cigarette smoke are self-assembled by the polymerizated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and ammonium nitrite which are disk nano-structure composed of $sp^2$/$sp^3$ carbon and oxygen/nitrogen groups or polymers. Sodium borohydride can reduce the carbonyl group on the surface of CDs to hydroxyl group and increase the ratio of the Na 1s ratio of the CDs from 1.86 to 7.42. The CDs can emit blue fluorescence under ultraviolet irradiation. After reduction, the R-CDS have the intensity of fluorescence 7.2 times than before and the fluorescence quantum yield increase from 6.13\% to 8.86\%. The photoluminescence (PL) wavelength of R-CDS have red-shift of 7 nm which was due to the increasing of Na element ratio. The onion epidermal cells labeled with R-CDs show that the CDs could pass through the cell wall into the cell and reach the nucleus. The cell wall and the nucleus could be clearly visualized. CDs also shows low toxicity to human bronchial epithelial cells (BEAS-2B) with good biological activity. The obtained results indicate that the CDs and R-CDs have good fluorescent property which could be used as bio-imaging agent.

摘要: We identify 20 F-type Herbig stars and provide a list of 22 pre-main-sequence candidates from LAMOST DR8. The effective temperature, distance, extinction, stellar luminosity, mass, and radius are derived for each Herbig star based on optical spectra, photometry, Gaia EDR3 parallaxes, and pre-main-sequence evolutionary tracks. According to spectral energy distributions, 19 F-type Herbig stars belong to Class II YSOs, and one belongs to the flat-spectrum class. Four have Spitzer IRS spectra, of which three show extremely weak polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons emissions, and three with both amorphous and crystalline silicate emissions share the similar parameters and are at the same evolutionary stage. We detect a solar-nearby outbursting EXor Herbig star J034344.48+314309.3, possible precursor of a Herbig Ae star. Intense emission lines of HI, HeI, OI, NaI, and CaII originated from the rapid accretion during the outbursts are detected in its optical spectra, and silicate emission features are detected in its infrared spectrum. We also make a statistic analysis on the disk properties of all known Herbig stars using the defined infrared spectral indices. The proportion of Herbig stars with moderate infrared excesses decreases as effective temperature increases. The majority of the precursors (F-, G-, or K- type) have moderate infrared excesses. Hotter Herbig stars tend to have a larger proportion with large infrared excesses. The trends may be due to the fact that hotter stars have larger areas of re-emitting dust, although there is some scatter due to the particularities of each disk.

摘要: The physics potential of detecting $^8$B solar neutrinos is exploited at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), in a model independent manner by using three distinct channels of the charged-current (CC), neutral-current (NC) and elastic scattering (ES) interactions. Due to the largest-ever mass of $^{13}$C nuclei in the liquid-scintillator detectors and the potential low background level, $^8$B solar neutrinos would be observable in the CC and NC interactions on $^{13}$C for the first time. By virtue of optimized event selections and muon veto strategies, backgrounds from the accidental coincidence, muon-induced isotopes, and external backgrounds can be greatly suppressed. Excellent signal-to-background ratios can be achieved in the CC, NC and ES channels to guarantee the $^8$B solar neutrino observation. From the sensitivity studies performed in this work, we show that one can reach the precision levels of 5%, 8% and 20% for the $^8$B neutrino flux, $\sin^2\theta_{12}$, and $\Delta m^2_{21}$, respectively, using ten years of JUNO data. It would be unique and helpful to probe the details of both solar physics and neutrino physics. In addition, when combined with SNO, the world-best precision of 3% is expected for the $^8$B neutrino flux measurement.
