摘要: Grassland is a key component of the ecosystem in the Qinghai Lake Basin, China. Understanding the effects of climate change and human activities on grassland productivity significantly improves ecological conservation and promotes sustainable vegetation growth in this area. Based on the net primary productivity (NPP) products of MOD17A3HGF (a moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) product that provides annual NPP at 500 m resolution) and meteorological data, we analyzed the spatial and temporal evolution of grassland NPP and its interaction with climate factors in the Qinghai Lake Basin from 2001 to 2022 via partial correlation and trend analysis methods. We also used the deflecting trend residual method and scenario analysis method to quantitatively assess the relative contributions of climatic factors and human activities to grassland NPP. The results revealed that: (1) during the past 22 a, grassland NPP increased considerably, with a gradient change from the northwest to the southeast of the study area; (2) sunshine duration, precipitation, and temperature positively influenced grassland NPP, with sunshine duration exerting a stronger effect on grassland NPP than precipitation and temperature; and (3) 98.47% of the grassland in the study area was restored, with an average contribution of 65.00% from human activities and 35.00% from climatic alterations. Compared with climate change, human-induced factors had a greater effect on grassland NPP in this area. The results of the study not only provide important scientific support for ecological restoration and sustainable development of the basin but also offer new ideas for research on similar ecologically fragile areas.

摘要: Hantaviruses, which belong to the genus Hantavirus in the family Bunyaviridae, infect mammals, including humans, causing either hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) or hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS) in humans with high mortality. Hantavirus encodes a nucleocapsid protein (NP) to encapsidate the genome and form a ribonucleoprotein complex (RNP) together with viral polymerase. Here, we report the crystal structure of the core domains of NP (NPcore) encoded by Sin Nombre virus (SNV) and Andes virus (ANDV), which are two representative members that cause HCPS in the New World. The constructs of SNV and ANDV NPcore exclude the N- and C-terminal portions of full polypeptide to obtain stable proteins for crystallographic study. The structure features an N lobe and a C lobe to clamp RNA-binding crevice and exhibits two protruding extensions in both lobes. The positively charged residues located in the RNA-binding crevice play a key role in RNA binding and virus replication. We further demonstrated that the C-terminal helix and the linker region connecting the N-terminal coiled-coil domain and NPcore are essential for hantavirus NP oligomerization through contacts made with two adjacent protomers. Moreover, electron microscopy (EM) visualization of native RNPs extracted from the virions revealed that a monomer-sized NP-RNA complex is the building block of viral RNP. This work provides insight into the formation of hantavirus RNP and provides an understanding of the evolutionary connections that exist among bunyaviruses. IMPORTANCE Hantaviruses are distributed across a wide and increasing range of host reservoirs throughout the world. In particular, hantaviruses can be transmitted via aerosols of rodent excreta to humans or from human to human and cause HFRS and HCPS, with mortalities of 15% and 50%, respectively. Hantavirus is therefore listed as a category C pathogen. Hantavirus encodes an NP that plays essential roles both in RNP formation and in multiple biological functions. NP is also the exclusiv

摘要: Differing from radiography without lens system, the high-energy proton radiography (PRAD) uses Zumbro lens system to focus the penetrating protons. Since the Zumbro lens system is able to limit the range of multiple Coulomb scattering angles of the protons, the low-energy PRAD with Zumbro lens system is also feasible, although the attenuation of probing protons in the object is negligible. Low-energy PRAD is superior to the high-energy PRAD for diagnosing the objects of small thicknesses. To verify the imaging principle of Zumbro lens system, 11 MeV PRAD experiments were performed at the China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP) recently. The experiment results demonstrated that this 11 MeV PRAD was able to radiograph objects of area density less than 2.710-2 g/cm2 and the area density discrepancy less than 2.3% could be distinguished.

摘要: Proton radiography experiment with a Zumbro lens system was carried out on an 11 MeV proton cyclotron. The experimental results show that the image blurring is improved markedly. Clear images and good spatial resolution of the density step edges are obtained, which is important for hydrotest experiments, and the spatial resolution can achieve 100 m.
