Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] This study aims to address two research questions: First, have digital divides narrowed down in the approximately ten years of time span Second, are there any significant changes to themechanisms of digital divides across the almost ten vears? [Method/Process] To study the cross-temporal changesin the digital divide based on questionnaire data collected through solid fieldwork in 2012 and 2020. [Result/Conclusion] This paper finds that the gaps in digital divides , including three dimensions of access, use and Internet ac.tivities , have narrowed in China. and the related formation mechanisms of the three dimensions show some diachronichanges. These findings further confirm that the gap of my country's digital divide is shrinking. The relevant conclu.sions of this study not only help to understand the distribution of the digital divide in my country , but also help policmakers to formulate targeted digital governance guidelines based on the formation mechanism of the digital divide byanalyzing the time changes of the formation mechanism of the digital divide.

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] Library science textbooks are not only important carriers of discipline knowledge systems, but also important witness of the history of library science in the Republic of China ( 1912 - 1949)This study researches on the construction of library science textbooks during the Republic of China, contributes todeepen the research on the history of library education and has reference value for the development of library scienceand the construction of the knowledge system with Chinese characteristics. [Method/Process] Using the historicalresearch method and the relevant theories of philology, the paper had made a holistic investigation of the textbooks olibrary science in the Republic of China from the perspectives of document formation and knowledge composition. [Result/Conclusion] Library science textbooks in the Republic of China are divided into three categories: translation style , compilation style and creation style. The time of appearance of the three types of textbooks roughly followsthe sequence of translation, compilation and writing. The relationship between new and old knowledge changes fromparalleling" to " intersecting" . The degree of autonomy and localization of knowledge production of library science isimproved. The overall characteristics of practicality are presented among these textbooks , which show the importaniposition of western especially American library science knowledge in the territory of library science knowledge. Furthermore, some suggestions are put forward , such as avoiding the path dependence of learning and reference , promoting the local "new knowledge" into the textbooks from the two aspects of Chinese ancient book culture and librarrpractice , and re-examining the appropriateness of the integration of Chinese and Western knowledge.

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] Author self-citations are a common phenomenon and an important factor tobe considered in citation analysis and scientific evaluation. However, how to deal with author self-citations in scien-tific evaluation has alwavs been controversial. This paper expects to provide suggestions for proper treatment of authoiself-citations by exploring the principles of author self-citations. [Method/Process] Based on a thorough survey orprevious works related to author self-citations , this paper adopted the journal data of library and information science( Chinese literature) and implemented author- and paper-level analyses of author self-citations by using statistica methods such as regression analysis. [Result/Conclusion] Empirical results show that Chinese library and informa-tion science researchers tend to have a low rate of author self-citations and that there is a strong positive correlationbetween the author selfcitation frequency and the number of published articles. The paper also observes that authorself-citations have limited impact on h-index and that being self-cited may boost the possibility of citations ( by others ) .

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] With papers in the field of library and information science in China, thisstudy measures the novelty and conventionality of these papers and explores their effects on the scientific impacts ofthese papers , in order to reveal the law of scientific innovation in this field. [Method/Process] This paper adopteda variation of the Markov Chain Monte Carlo ( MCMC) approach to measuring novelty and conventionality of 70 207papers in library and information science ( n = 70 207) from the Chinese Social Science Citation Index ( CSSCI) intwo decades , specifically, from 2000 to 2019. With robust logistic regression , this paper examined the impacts of pa.pers’novelty and conventionality on their papers’scientific impacts. ( Result/Conclusion] The results show that.ceteris paribus , the novelty of a paper increases by 1 unit, the odds ratio of the paper becoming a highly cited paperincreases by 11% ( p <0.000 1) , and the conventionality of a paper increases by 1 unit, and the odds ratio of thepaper becoming a highly cited paper increases by 33% ( p <0.000 1). The marginal effect analysis shows that pa.pers with high novelty and conventionality are more likely to be highly cited papers than other types of papers. In ad.dition , over time , the impact of novelty on the probability of a paper being highly cited gradually weakens , while theimpact of conventionality gradually increases. Meanwhile, author team size has a significant effect on the novelty otthe paper, and such a effect increases over time. These findings highlight the characteristics of scientific innovationin the field of library and information in China, and provide novel empirical evidence to understand the law of scientific innovation in the field of library and information in China. Last but not least , this paper, based on Bayesian sta-tistics , also proposes an alternative method for informetrics.

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] The commenting and publishing hehaviors of viewers in online video communities reflect the social interaction between viewers and video uploaders as well as among viewers. Exploring theinfluencing factors of users’commenting behaviors in online video communities is of great significance in strengthening the relationship among users in video communities and motivate their participation. [Method/Process] Basedon the N-effect, signaling theory, and social presence theory , this paper proposed hypotheses regarding how charac-teristics of the existing comments may influence viewers’ comment posting behaviors. The daily data of 2075 yideospublished on BiliBili. com at the same day were tracked for one week. The two-way fixed effect model was used to testour hypotheses. [Result/Conclusion] The number of peer comments has a negative impact on video viewers’com-ment posting behaviors. and the comment feedback from video uploaders has a positive impact on viewers’ commentposting behaviors. The users’interactivity of the existing comments can weaken the impacts of both the number ofpeer comments and video uploaders’ comment feedback on viewers’ comment posting behaviors.

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of prior attitudes onusers’access to opposing information , especially the behavioral characteristics of selective exposure , selective under-standing, and selective recall. ( Method/Process] This study adopted the experimental method. Firstly, the prioraltitudes of the participants were understood through the pre-test questionnaire , and then the participants were provid.ed with articles of the same and opposite viewpoints. The participants freely chose the articles to read and thought aoud, and made decisions again after reading and displayed the reasons. After the experiment, the participants filleoin the post-est questionnare. [Result/Conclusion] Participants have selective exposure and selective recall, andprior attitude have a significant effect on selective exposure behaviors and recall after 1 day. On the basis of selectiveexposure , participants show four cognitive and understanding processes for information. There are 11 cognitive mechanisms , including " key item extraction" , " restatement , " semantic fit" and " eliminalion". In the theorelicasense , this study supplements the research results related to selective information behaviors and enriches the researchin the field of the information behavior. From the point of view of practical significance, it helps to promote usersmore objective cognition and scientific decision-making.
