Abstract: In view of the deficiencies of current multiple attribute decision making methods can not reflect the individual preference on multiple grades of the decision makers and lack an objective and reasonable multiple attribute evaluation benchmark. This paper proposed a multiple attribute decision making method based on the vector cosine method. Firstly, it used the pairwise comparison of alternatives on multiple grades to determine decision maker's preference for each attribute. Secondly, it used the ideal point method to determine the ideal value of each attribute for the ideal evaluation object. Finally, it used the vector cosine projection method to calculate the projection intensity of the general multiple attribute problem vector in the direction of the ideal multiple attribute problem vector, these projection intensities determine the ranking result of the schemes. Through an example to demonstrate the feasibility of effectiveness of the proposed method.
