Under the guidance of the National Science Library,Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Society of China University Journals, the "ChinaXiv-NursRxiv Preprint Platform Open Review Promotion Conference" was successfully held on line on the afternoon of November 28, 2022. The meeting was co-chaired by Zhang Xin, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Society of China University Journals, Liu Jingyu, deputy research librarian of the National Science Library,Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tang Ling, director of the Nursing Department of the Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Nearly 400 people watched the live broadcast of the conference online.
Zhang Zhixiong, deputy director of the National Science Library,Chinese Academy of Sciences, pointed out in his speech that the combination of preprints and open peer reviews has changed the mode of scholarly communication in recent years. Quality review certification for preprints can ensure the quality of peer-reviewed preprints and make the review process more open and transparent. The National Science Library,Chinese Academy of Sciences is actively cooperating with academia, journals, and publishers to build a new model of "preprint + open peer review" based on ChinaXiv (https://chinaxiv.org). The ChinaXiv-NursRxiv preprint platform(http://nursrxiv.chinaxiv.org/) conforms to the development trend of international academic exchanges, and is the first to start the innovative exploration of open peer review based on the preprint platform in China. This indicates the development of the platform has entered a journey from quantitative change to qualitative change, and will provides useful exploration to Chinese open scholarly communication model construction. The convening of this meeting is very timely and significant. The meeting is divided into two parts: Academic Report and Case Review. The topics of the academic report section are: Preprint platform and new scholarly communication Trends and Key Points of Open Review of Preprints Introduction to "CN Preprint Weekly Review" Chu Jingli, director of the Academic Committee of the National Science Library,Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced the characteristics of the new academic exchange of preprints, emphasized the symbiosis, mutual benefit and coordinated development of preprints and journals. Li Yongdong, Business Development Director of Taylor&Francis International publishing group in China region, and Eleanor-Rose Papas, Senior Editor Operations and Peer Review Manager, gave a special report on the operation of open peer review on the F1000 Research platform in the past ten years, introduced the main points of open review and shared the specific practice of F1000 Research in open peer review. Wang Yuju, librarian of the National Science Library,Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced the international development trend of open peer review, demonstrated the practical process of open peer review on the international preprint platform.Then described the open peer review model of ChinaXiv, and introduced the basic situation of the "CN Preprint Weekly Review" activity in detail. In the case paper sharing and case review sessions, Liu Liyan, deputy chief nurse of Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Xie Wei, director of the Nursing Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, introduced their case papers. Zhao Yihua, deputy dean of Maternal and Child Branch of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital, and Wang Zheng, chief physician of Wenzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated to Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,and other experts,respectively made online comments from many aspects .Such as the practicality of topic selection, scientificity of cases,representativeness,and innovation. At the end of the meeting, Ye Zhenhua, director of the Nursing Journal of Integrative Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, made a concluding speech. He pointed out that this meeting brought together outstanding publishing experts and nursing experts, and it was a milestone meeting. The open peer review practice carried out by the ChinaXiv-NursRxiv Preprint Platform is of great significance for promoting the integration of disciplines, knowledge production and innovation. Integrative Medicine Nursing Magazine will also continue to work together with authors and experts to promote the cognition and thinking of open review among academics and industry colleagues , and to promote open review and open scientific practice in China. Furthermore, ChinaXiv preprint platform is actively promoting the model of “Preprint+Open Peer Review” and seeking cooperation from all over the world.
