The editorial board of the Journal of Ecotoxicology will cooperate with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) scientific and technological paper pre-publication platform (ChinaXiv, http://www.chinaxiv.org) from now on, and is committed to providing authors with manuscript deposit, rapid dissemination and network debut through the preprint platform (ChinaXiv), so as to co-construct a retrievable, free-downloadable, and open-sharing for the readers and the academic community, It provides services for readers and academics to build a new mode of communication and academic dissemination of searchable, free downloadable and openly shared scientific research results. The relevant policies are published as follows: 1. Journal of Ecotoxicology is a co-operative journal of ChinaXiv, and will establish a business synergy relationship of "preprint platform release - academic journal publication" with ChinaXiv, to jointly work on the first release and rapid dissemination of research results on the Internet, and to enhance the academic influence of the research results. 2. The Journal of Ecotoxicology encourages and supports authors to prioritise the release of their manuscripts (first draft or submission version) on ChinaXiv before and after submitting to the Journal of Ecotoxicology, or to submit the accepted version (unpublished version) to ChinaXiv for publication after review by the journal. 3. The Journal of Ecotoxicology supports authors to store the published version (postprint) on the ChinaXiv platform by themselves. At the same time, the DOI of the preprint is marked (or updated) and linked to the published version of the article. 4. The papers officially published in the Journal of Ecotoxicology and the manuscripts (preprints) of the papers published on the platform of pre-release of scientific and technical papers of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ChinaXiv) do not constitute duplicate publication, and the papers are encouraged to be disseminated rapidly and widely through various ways and channels. 5. Unsubmitted papers that have been published on ChinaXiv platform will be selected by the Journal of Ecotoxicology on the basis of their quality and the needs of the journals, and formally published in the journals after peer review. The Journal of Ecotoxicology also accepts the recommendation of excellent papers from ChinaXiv platform. 6. The Journal of Ecotoxicology will work together with ChinaXiv to provide additional services such as paper detection, paper preliminary evaluation, paper polishing, open review, and network debut, to seek a balance between paper quality and publication speed, to strengthen the post-review after publication, and to build up a vibrant and dynamic new academic community of ecotoxicology. 7. Readers and authors are welcome to join ChinaXiv's volunteer review team to jointly build a new type of academic communication system that is self-governed by scholars, and to promote the reform of academic evaluation and the prosperity of China's academic development.
